Born and raised in a small town of Tongaat, north of Durban, Darren was deeply moved by culture and naturally drawn to creativity from a young age. Growing up in a multidimensional society has been a blessing it opened his eyes to the different dynamics or people, traditions, and beliefs. Being surrounded by so many influences sparked something powerful in Darren, a fire that has fuelled his creative journey ever since.

As a child, everything Darren encountered, objects, people, moments became a source of inspiration. "The pushed me to explore, to learn, and to find meaning in creativity and storytelling". says Darren. Over time, his own artistic voice began to take shape, one rooted in the fabric of our society, in culture, and in the universal story of struggle and resilience.
