Born in Kenya and now based on the North Coast, David Wachania is an impressionist artist who works primarily in acrylic paint. Known for his textured palette knife technique, his paintings are bold and expressive, bringing movement and depth to everyday scenes.

David’s journey as an artist began in 2002 at Kizo Gallery, where he first established himself within the South African art community. Over the years, his practice has evolved into a distinct style that blends structure with emotion, capturing both the energy of the moment and the atmosphere of place.

Now living and working in Ballito, David continues to grow his body of work, inspired by his surroundings, his experiences, and his admiration for artists such as Jane Digby, Gift Dlamini, and Jabulani Cele. For him, painting is both a craft and a calling. A lifelong exploration of texture, colour, and expression.
