Jane Digby

"I am imperfect, I don’t seek realism or perfection, but rather a catalyst that will begin a dialogue between artist, painting and viewer."

Jane Digby's artworks are cultural dialogue that concerns larger contextual frameworks such as personal and cultural identity, family, community, nationality, and a journey with her physicality and spirituality.

Influenced by the Impressionist movement, she grasps the momentary, sensory feelings of the portrait, scape or abstract while painting. Painting that fleeting gesture, too beautiful to capture but irresistible. Just out of her reach, Jane's paintings are attempts at creating  an illusion between reality and her chaotic headspace.
