THE GALLERY PRESENTS A NEW EXHIBITION TITLED: NOSTALGIA
OFFICIALLY LAUNCHING THURSDAY 4TH OF DECEMBER
As the year draws to a close and the festive season gathers us together, we find ourselves returning to familiar faces, familiar places, and familiar feelings. NOSTALGIA, The Gallery’s summer exhibition, invites both artist and viewer to linger in this tender space between memory and presence.
Over the holidays, the feeling of nostalgia often rises quietly to the surface. It appears in the familiar flavours of a home-cooked meal, the view from a childhood window, or the melody of an old song that once played endlessly in the background of our lives. These sensory fragments have the power to transport us not only to the past, but to a deeper emotional truth that transcends time and space.

For the artist, nostalgia can be a bridge, a way to revisit and reconnect with fragments of lived experience. Through painting, drawing, sculpture and mixed media, the exhibiting artists navigate this inner landscape, exploring how memory shapes identity and belonging. For the viewer, these works become mirrors, sparking their own recollections and offering a quiet moment of shared recognition.
Nostalgia reminds us that art, much like memory, is a form of time travel, a way to hold the fleeting and to make the unseen felt once more. The exhibition will be running from 4 December 2025 to 1 February 2026. Be sure to catch our First Thursdays event at The Studios, starting at 5:30 pm.
Enjoy an evening of live music by Quiet Storm, complemented by a curated wine tasting experience from Lifestyle Tops. A selection of food and beverages will also be available for purchase. The Gallery is located at The Studios, Lifestyle Centre, Ballito.
